Terms of Service

Effective August 7, 2026

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of domeralabs.com (the “Site”), your purchase of the Ami device, and your subscription to the Ami plan, all operated and provided by Domera Labs, Inc. (“Domera,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By using the Site, placing an order, or using the Ami service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

The Ami plan is a subscription that renews automatically until you cancel. Section 3 sets out its key terms in full, and Sections 8 and 9 explain how to cancel and when you are entitled to a refund. Please read them before you order.

1. About the Site and These Terms

Domera Labs, Inc. is a Delaware corporation. Through the Site you can learn about Ami, a voice-first companion device for older adults, order an Ami, and subscribe to the Ami plan — the connectivity and voice service that makes the device work.

In these Terms, “Ami” or “device” means the Ami hardware; “plan” or “subscription” means the recurring Ami service subscription; and “Service” means the plan together with the Site and any software or applications we provide with it.

These Terms cover the Site, your order, and your plan. Using the device day to day is covered separately: when you set your Ami up, we will give you terms and a privacy notice for the device itself — including what it does with what it hears — and ask you to accept them then.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to use the Site or join our early access list. To place an order or subscribe to a plan, you must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding contract. By ordering, you represent that you meet these requirements, that the payment method you use is yours or that you are authorized to use it, and that the information you give us is accurate.

You may order an Ami for someone else — a parent, for example. If you do, you remain the customer: the plan is billed to you, and you are responsible for cancelling it. Please make sure the person who will use the device understands how it works.

If we have reason to believe an order was placed by someone under 18, we may cancel it and refund it in full.

3. Automatic Renewal — Key Terms

This section summarizes the commercial terms of an Ami order. The rest of this document explains each of them in more detail. All amounts are in U.S. dollars and are stated per device — if you order more than one, each figure is multiplied by the number of devices you order.

  • What you pay today — a one-time deposit of $79 per device. Nothing else is charged when you order.
  • What renews — the Ami plan, quoted at $49 per month per device but billed every 6 months. There is no monthly billing option and no annual billing option.
  • When billing starts30 days after your Ami is delivered. Nothing is charged before then.
  • What you are charged — $215 per device for the first 6 months (that is $294 less your $79 deposit, which is applied as credit), then $294 per device every 6 months.
  • How long it lasts — the plan renews automatically every 6 months, on the same payment method, until you cancel. There is no minimum term and no cancellation fee.
  • Reminders — we email you about a month before each renewal charge, so nothing is ever taken unannounced.
  • How to cancel — cancel your plan in the Ami app. Before your Ami ships, you can cancel your order straight from your confirmation email. Either way you can also just email info@domeralabs.com. See Section 8.
  • Refunds — you can cancel for a full refund of everything you have paid at any time within 30 days of your Ami being delivered, and at any time before it is delivered. After that window closes there are no refunds, including for the unused part of a period you have already paid for. See Section 9.
  • Where we ship — the United States only.

Before you pay, the order page shows you this same billing timeline and the exact amounts that will be charged, and asks you to confirm that you understand them. After you order, we email you a confirmation setting out what you bought, the deposit you paid, and your plan’s billing terms.

4. Ordering an Ami

When you place an order you pay a one-time, fully refundable deposit of $79 per device. The deposit reserves your Ami. It is not a payment for the device, and it does not buy any particular number of months of service: once your plan starts, the deposit is applied to your account as credit and comes off your first installment.

Placing an order does not create a subscription. No plan exists, and no recurring charge is set up, until your Ami has been delivered to you.

Your order is an offer to buy. It is accepted when we confirm it by email. We may decline or cancel an order — for example if we cannot fulfill it, if the order appears fraudulent, or if a price or description was published in error — and if we do, we refund any deposit you paid in full.

Prices shown on the Site are in U.S. dollars. You are responsible for any sales or use tax that applies to your purchase; where we are required to collect it, it is shown at checkout before you pay.

5. Shipping and Delivery

We ship within the United States only. Shipping is free. We do not currently ship to addresses outside the United States, including to freight forwarders.

Any shipping date we give you is an estimate, not a guarantee. We will keep you updated by email if a date moves. Risk of loss passes to you when the carrier delivers your Ami to the address you gave us. If your Ami arrives damaged or does not arrive at all, contact us and we will make it right.

You can cancel your order for a full refund of your deposit at any time before your Ami is delivered.

6. Your Ami Plan

What the plan covers

The Ami plan covers the cellular connectivity built into your Ami and the voice service the device runs on. It is what makes the device work; an Ami without an active plan is not usable as intended. We may add, change, or remove individual features over time as we improve the Service.

When the plan starts

Your plan — and billing on it — begins 30 days after your Ami is delivered to you. Nothing beyond your deposit is charged before then: those 30 days are free, and they are also your refund window (Section 9).

What you are charged, and when

The plan is quoted at $49 per month per device because that is how it is easiest to compare, but it is never billed monthly. It is billed in advance, every 6 months, at $294 per device.

Your first installment is smaller because your deposit is credited against it: $294 less your $79 deposit, so $215 per device. Every installment after that is $294 per device.

Automatic renewal

Your plan renews automatically at the end of each 6-month period and is charged to the payment method you used to place your order, without further action by you, until you cancel. There is no minimum term, no commitment beyond the period you are currently in, and no fee for cancelling.

Reminders before each renewal

About a month before each renewal charge, we email you a reminder: what will be charged, the date it will be taken, and how to cancel if you would rather not carry on. You will never be renewed without hearing from us first.

Changes to the price

If we change what the plan costs, we will tell you by email in advance of the change taking effect, and — where the law requires your agreement to a change of this kind — we will ask for it. A price change never applies to a period you have already paid for, and you can cancel before it takes effect.

7. Payment, Your Card, and Stripe

Payments are processed by Stripe, Inc., our payment processor. You enter your card details directly into Stripe’s checkout, and Stripe handles them: we never receive or store your full card number. Your use of Stripe’s checkout is also subject to Stripe’s own terms and privacy policy. Our Privacy Policy describes what information we share with Stripe and our other service providers.

By placing an order you authorize us to save your payment method with Stripe and to charge it for your plan when it starts and at each renewal, without needing you to enter your details again. This is what allows the plan to begin only after your Ami arrives rather than at the moment you order.

Card refunds can only be sent back to the card that paid for a limited period after the payment — generally around 180 days. That period belongs to the card networks and our processor, not to us, and it is separate from the refund window in Section 9. If a refund we owe you falls outside it, you are still refunded in full; we will simply agree another route with you.

Keeping a valid payment method on file is your responsibility. You can update it by contacting us at info@domeralabs.com. If a payment fails, we may retry it and will contact you; if it stays unpaid, we may suspend the Service until it is settled.

8. Cancelling Your Plan

You can cancel at any time, for any reason. We will not ask you to explain yourself, put an offer in your way, or make you call anyone.

Before your Ami ships

Your confirmation email has a cancel button. Use it and your order is cancelled and your deposit refunded in full.

Once you have your Ami

Cancel your plan in the Ami app, whenever you like.

Or simply write to us

At any point, from either stage, you can email info@domeralabs.com from the address on your order — include your order number, which is on your confirmation email — or use the contact form on the Site. This route is always open and always sufficient: you never have to use the app or the email button if you would rather not. We confirm every cancellation by email.

What cancelling does

Cancelling stops future billing. It does not end your service immediately. You have paid for the 6-month period you are in, and your Ami keeps working for the rest of it. At the end of that period the plan simply ends: you are not charged again.

Outside the refund window described in Section 9, cancelling does not entitle you to money back for the part of a paid period you do not use.

If you cancel before your Ami is delivered, or within your refund window, Section 9 applies instead and you get your money back.

Once your refund window has closed, the device is yours to keep. Cancelling the plan after that point does not require you to give it back, but without an active plan it will no longer connect to the Ami service. Cancelling inside the window is different: you are getting your money back, so the device comes back to us (Section 9).

9. Refunds

There is one refund window, and it is 30 days long. It opens the day your Ami is delivered to you and closes 30 days later.

  • Before your Ami is delivered — the window has not opened yet, so your deposit is fully refundable. Cancel at any time and we refund all of it.
  • Within the 30 days — cancel and we refund everything you have paid: your $79 deposit, and any installment that has been collected. Your Ami goes back to us — see below.
  • After the window closes — no refund is due, including for the unused part of a 6-month period you have already paid for. Cancelling stops the next charge (see Section 8).

Sending your Ami back

If your Ami has already been delivered, a refund is conditional on returning it. Tell us you want to cancel and we email you a prepaid shipping label with instructions. Return postage is on us — there is no cost to you for sending it back.

Your Ami must be on its way back within the same 30 days. The window covers telling us and handing the parcel to the carrier, not the journey: because the label is ours, the carrier's first scan is what dates your return, so how long delivery takes is not your problem.

Please send the device back with the accessories it came with, in the condition it reached you, allowing for the ordinary marks of having tried it out — trying it out is what the days are for. Once your return is scanned by the carrier we process your refund. If the parcel is lost or damaged in transit after that point, that is ours to resolve, not yours.

If nothing is sent back within the 30 days, we cannot complete the refund. If something has gone wrong — the label never arrived, the parcel went astray, you were unwell — tell us. We would far rather sort it out with you than leave it.

How refunds are paid

Refunds are issued to the original payment method used for the purchase. We do not issue refunds as store credit or to someone else's account.

There is one exception, and it is not a way of paying you less. Card refunds can only be sent back to the original card for a limited period after the payment (see Section 7) — a period set by the card networks, not by us. Because a deposit can be paid months before a device ships, a refund we owe you may fall outside it. If that happens, you are still refunded in full: we will agree another route with you, such as a bank transfer to an account in your name. How quickly a refund appears is then up to your bank.

Nothing here limits any right you may have under applicable law to a remedy for a device that is faulty, not as described, or does not do what we said it would.

10. Disputes With Your Card Issuer

Nothing in these Terms affects your right to dispute a charge with your bank or card issuer. Card networks set their own deadlines and rules for disputes, and those are independent of — and are not shortened by — the refund window described above. We would rather hear from you first: contacting us is usually faster, and we can often resolve the problem outright.

11. Your Ami Device

Once your refund window has closed, the Ami device is yours. There is no separate charge for the hardware; the plan is what you pay for. If you take a refund inside that window, the device is returned to us instead (Section 9). Software on the device, and the Service it connects to, are licensed to you rather than sold — see Section 14.

You agree not to open, modify, or reverse engineer the device or its software, or to use it in a way that interferes with the network it runs on.

Any express warranty we publish for the device applies in addition to these Terms, as do any rights you have under applicable consumer law. Nothing in Section 18 takes those away.

12. Not a Medical or Emergency Service

Ami is a consumer product. It is not a medical device, it does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment, and it is not a substitute for professional care or supervision.

Ami is also not a monitored emergency response system. It depends on cellular coverage, power, and third-party networks, any of which can be unavailable. Do not rely on it as the only way to summon help in an emergency. In an emergency, call the emergency services.

13. Early Access List and Emails

You can join our early access list to hear about Ami. Doing so does not create a purchase, reservation, or any obligation on either party, and it does not guarantee availability, priority, or any particular price. We may modify or discontinue the list at any time. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in our emails or by writing to privacy@domeralabs.com.

Marketing emails are optional and separate from your order. Declining them has no effect on your order or your plan. We will still send you messages we need to send about your order, your plan, and your account — confirmations, billing notices, and service updates — for as long as you are a customer.

14. Intellectual Property

All content on the Site, and all software in the Ami device and the Service, including text, graphics, logos, images, designs, and code, is owned by Domera or our licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and view the Site for personal, non-commercial purposes, and to use the software in your Ami as part of the Service. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, lease, reverse engineer, or create derivative works of any part of the Site, the device software, or the Service without our prior written permission.

Our logo, and the Ami name used in combination with our logo, are registered trademarks of Domera Labs, Inc. “Domera” and “Domera Labs” are our trade names. You may not use any of these, or anything confusingly similar to them, to identify your own goods or services, or in a way that suggests we endorse or are connected with you, without our prior written consent.

15. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Site, the device, or the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law or regulation
  • Submit false, misleading, or fraudulent information, including ordering with a payment method you are not authorized to use
  • Interfere with, disrupt, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Site, the Service, or any related systems
  • Use any automated means (such as bots, scrapers, or crawlers) to access the Site, except for well-behaved search engine crawlers
  • Introduce viruses, malware, or other harmful code
  • Collect or harvest information about other users
  • Resell, redistribute, or commercially exploit the Service without our written permission
  • Use the Site or the Service in a way that could damage, disable, overburden, or impair it

16. Feedback

If you send us feedback, suggestions, or ideas about the Site, Ami, or the Service, you grant Domera a perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, modify, and incorporate that feedback into our products and services, without any obligation to you.

17. Third-Party Links and Services

The Site and the Service may link to or rely on third-party websites, networks, and services that we do not control, including payment processing, cellular carriers, and providers of the underlying AI models. We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, availability, or practices of those third parties, and your use of any third-party site is at your own risk and subject to their terms.

18. Disclaimers

Except as expressly stated in these Terms or in any written warranty we provide, the Site, the device, and the Service are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and any warranties arising from course of dealing or usage of trade. Domera does not warrant that the Site or the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components, that any output of the Service will be accurate or suitable for any particular purpose, or that any information on the Site is accurate, complete, or current.

Ami uses artificial intelligence. Its responses can be wrong, incomplete, or unsuitable, and should not be relied on for medical, legal, financial, or other professional decisions.

Nothing in this section excludes or limits any warranty or right that cannot be excluded or limited under the law that applies to you, including your rights as a consumer and any express written warranty we give for the device.

19. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, in no event will Domera, its officers, directors, employees, affiliates, or agents be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or business opportunities, arising out of or related to your use of the Site, the device, or the Service, whether based on contract, tort, negligence, strict liability, or any other legal theory, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms, the Site, the device, or the Service will not exceed the greater of the total amounts you paid us in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim, or one hundred U.S. dollars (USD 100).

These limits do not apply to liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or to any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages, so some of the above may not apply to you.

20. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Domera and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or related to your misuse of the Site, the device, or the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of a third party. This does not apply to claims arising from our own acts or omissions.

21. Suspension and Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Site or the Service if you materially breach these Terms, if your payments go unpaid, or if we are required to by law. Where it is reasonable to do so, we will tell you first and give you a chance to put it right.

If we discontinue the Ami service, we will give you as much notice as we reasonably can, and we will either keep the Service running until the end of the period you have already paid for or refund its unused portion. You will not lose time you have paid for because we stopped.

The provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination will survive, including intellectual property provisions, disclaimers, limitations of liability, indemnification, and dispute resolution.

22. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict of laws principles. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms, the Site, the device, or the Service shall be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Delaware, and you consent to personal jurisdiction in those courts.

If you are a consumer, nothing in this section deprives you of the protection of the mandatory laws of the state or country where you live, including the right to bring a claim there where the law gives you that right. If you are a consumer residing in the European Union, United Kingdom, or another jurisdiction with mandatory consumer protections, nothing in this section deprives you of the protections of the mandatory laws of your country of residence.

23. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date above and, where appropriate, notify you through the Site or by email. The version of these Terms you accepted when you ordered continues to govern that order; changes that materially affect an existing plan will be notified to you before they take effect, and where the law requires your agreement to such a change, we will ask for it. Your continued use of the Site or the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

24. Miscellaneous

These Terms are the entire agreement between you and Domera regarding the Site, the device, and the Service, and supersede any prior agreements. If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in effect. Our failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver of that provision. You may not assign these Terms without our prior written consent; we may assign them freely. Headings are for convenience only and have no legal effect.
